September changes the city-tour picture in three ways: Buyeo returns after its summer heat pause, Yeosu begins an island-expo period with a published route adjustment, and the national Chuseok holiday creates a four-day planning risk from 24 to 27 September.
Top actions: book Buyeo by its Thursday deadline after the 5 September restart, separate Yeosu's event-period route from the ordinary map, and avoid assuming normal operation during Chuseok even when a route's weekly pattern appears to match.
Key dates
- 5 September: Buyeo's county city tour is scheduled to resume; Yeosu's 2026 Island Expo begins.
- 12 September: Wonju's campground-linked Content Tour has one published limited date.
- 24–27 September: Chuseok holiday period for five-day-week institutions; operator-specific closures and traffic require fresh checks.
- End of September: Gongju and Yeosu remain inside broader autumn operating seasons, but dated inventory still controls.
Seoul: stable route families, unstable holiday details
Seoul's two city-tour operators remain separate products with different starts, tickets and exchange instructions. Use Gwanghwamun for Tiger's main daytime loop and DDP for Yellow Balloon's Traditional Culture Course planning.
The official national calendar confirms Chuseok on Friday 25 September, within a 24–27 September holiday period. Do not project an ordinary Thursday–Sunday timetable into that window. Wait for each operator's holiday notice and date selector.
Busan: Red, Green and Orange, Wednesday–Sunday
The current individual route pages list Wednesday–Sunday operation and Monday–Tuesday closure. That makes most September weekends easy to shortlist, but it does not settle Chuseok service or live capacity.
The Blue Line page still states temporary suspension. Plan accommodation and attractions around Red, Green or Orange, and use the Busan route guide before booking a base.
Gyeongju: weekday course logic continues
World Heritage and City Night are listed daily; East Coast runs Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; Silla History runs Wednesday and Friday; Yangdong–Namsan runs Monday. Those weekly rules are useful for building a September skeleton.
They do not guarantee a bus. The core pages state a minimum group of 15 and Korean-language commentary. During the Chuseok period, use the operator's dated confirmation rather than the usual weekday matrix.
Jeonju: September currently needs a calendar check
Jeonju's city tour is a dated monthly themed product, not a fixed weekly loop. In the operator calendar checked for this report, September did not yet show a priced bookable departure. That should be reported as “check required,” not as proof that the whole month is cancelled.
Reopen the Nambuk Tour calendar after new dates are loaded. Do not reuse August's route, pickup or inclusions.
Yeosu: Island Expo starts 5 September
Yeosu's official event notice publishes the 2026 Island Expo from 5 September to 4 November and identifies a temporary route adjustment for the performance-based Buskers product via Gukdong waterfront park. Travellers using an old screenshot can therefore miss the event-period route.
Yeosu also has multiple ordinary products with different Monday and date rules. Treat Course 1, Course 2, daytime double-decker, ordinary night and Buskers as separate calendars. On Fridays and Saturdays within the Buskers season, verify which night product is actually sold.
Gongju: autumn weekends continue, source conflict remains
Gongju's 2026 city tour operates within a March–November season, so September weekends remain candidates. Booking is published to close Wednesday at 18:00, and the service depends on minimum participants and operating conditions.
The official source conflict is still unresolved: the dated launch release and live guide reverse the Saturday and Sunday course labels. Use the actual reservation listing's stops and fare instead of trusting the label alone.
Buyeo: the biggest September reopening
After no service in July and August, Buyeo's official guide schedules the county city tour to resume on Saturday 5 September and continue on weekends through 18 October.
The Saturday Baekje route and Sunday healing route have different fares and inclusions. Advance booking closes Thursday at 16:00, operation requires at least five bookings, and the county process includes Korean bank-transfer instructions. International visitors should confirm payment support before relying on the booking.
Chuncheon: summer night tour ends before September
The Lake Starlight Night Tour ends on 29 August, so it should not appear as a September candidate. Chuncheon's ordinary daytime products continue by weekday under the route set revised from 1 July.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday do not use one identical loop. Open the current dated product, especially if your plan depends on Nami Island, the cable car or a specific museum stop.
Wonju: one limited content date plus the regular circuit
Wonju's year-round circuit normally runs Tuesday–Sunday and publishes operation on Monday public holidays. Its separate campground-linked Content Tour has a limited date on Saturday 12 September and is not included in the ordinary circuit pass.
The official page lists no service during Chuseok. That holiday closure applies even though the calendar days might otherwise match the normal Tuesday–Sunday pattern.
September booking priorities
- Book first: Buyeo weekends, Gongju weekend products, Gyeongju course dates and Chuncheon themed products.
- Wait for inventory: Jeonju September dates and all minimum-group products.
- Recheck event routing: Yeosu from 5 September.
- Do not infer service: 24–27 September Chuseok period.
- Keep a backup: public transport or a self-guided route for weather and group cancellations.
What to check 48 hours before travel
- The exact operator and product name.
- The dated booking or timetable page.
- Payment completion and confirmation message.
- Minimum-participant confirmation.
- Holiday, weather and event notices.
- The final usable return and your onward transport.
